Diagnostics
Scandivir's business concept is to develop simple and rapid diagnostic methods to detect infection with the obesity related virus Ad-36, and antiviral treatments for Ad-36 and other relevant viruses that cause diseases and problems for humans and animals.
On the diagnostics side, the first objective is to develop a test kit to detect infection with the obesity virus Adenovirus-36 (Ad-36), which is likely to be contributing to the global obesity epidemic. An ELISA test for professional users is currently being prepared for production and commercialization, and the next step is to develop a kit for home use.
In parallel to the test kit development, R&D work is also being conducted to develop antiviral treatments both for Ad-36 and other virus related diseases that affect humans and animals. For more information about this, please refer to the Treatments page.
