Partners
Scandivir's main assets are the company's innovative product portfolio, the strong IP portfolio and the competence and connections of the senior management. In order to make the most out of these assets, while at the same time remaining cost effective, the company's strategy is to work through strong and well-established partners within both R&D and sales.
On the R&D side, Scandivir is partnering with Obetech, LLC. at the Virginia Biotechnology Research Park in USA and Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM) at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden (see also the R&D page).
Scandivir will not sell products directly to end consumers. Instead, the sales will take place through distributors who will also take care of international marketing. Sales and distribution partnerships are currently in early stages of discussion, and will move forward as the company's R&D work starts generating products in commercialization phase.
External funding
Scandivir's research is also generating interest from external funding agencies. The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, Vinnova, recently decided to fund a 3-year Scandivir project regarding diagnostics and treatment of virally induced obesity. The project is carried out by Dr. Catharina Lavebratt at CMM.
